My private blacksmithing and knifemaking classes are designed as a progression of skills. Each class builds on the last, taking you from basic hammer control to crafting your own traditional tools, art, and beyond. Following the sequence ensures you learn safely, efficiently, and with confidence — and each session leaves you with a finished take-home project to show your progress.

Each Private Class is designed for 2 students. Additional spots may be purchased.

Blacksmithing classes are generally 3-4 hours.

$350/session

Knifemaking Foundations – Custom Class Series

$400/session

Transition smoothly into making knives, building from small integral handle knives all the way to full-tang EDC blades.

Work your way through making your own knives, going from raw steel to a finished blade. In these classes, students will hand forge, heat-treat, and approach grinding a blade at a pace that is comfortable for each student. Knife sessions are generally 4 to 5 hours long with a 1-hour break in the middle. More advanced knives generally take more than one session.

Forging Knowledge with Heat and Heart

As a certified physics educator and blacksmithing instructor, I offer safe, engaging workshops for homeschool families and youth. We explore heat, force, metal properties, and more through fire and forging. Instruction incorporating 3D printing is also available.

Programs can be one-time experiences or recurring modules.
